Approach

Sierra del a Corta. The opening to the cave is just down from the ridge, and largely hidden by vegetation until directly next to it.

Entrance

The opening is a 1 m wide and 3 m long fissure, with a large block wedged in the middle.

Description

Backup line tied into a nearby tree, straight to a Y-hang at the obvious opening, and descend to a rebelay, then straight down to the base of the cave. The pot is characterised as a sheer vertical mature pot, increasing in width until it terminates on a boulder floor, approximately 25m deep. At the boulder floor there is no apparent way on, with the one side showing calcite and flowstone/moonmilk formations. This corner of the base of the cave is much colder than elsewhere and might be an option for a dig to see if the large pot continues past the boulder floor.

No safe way of digging. Not worth revisiting (2024)
