Approach

The Cave of Praducos (PO-3), is located at the bottom of the jou of the same name. The cavity acts as a collector of all the water that collects this wide depression. This cavity was located and explored in the Portudera 2016 campaign.

Entrance

The entrance to it has been modified by man, subtracting size and adapting this for the placement of a door, and thus protect its interior. Already inside the same, the entrance gallery has a width of about four meters, and is completely occupied by the remains of old cheese-making, now in disuse.

Description

The entrance to it has been modified by man, subtracting size and adapting this for the placement of a door, and thus protect its interior. Already inside the same, the entrance gallery has a width of about four meters, and is completely occupied by the remains of old cheese-making, now in disuse. Continuing East direction, and in surpassing these remains, the cavity loses amplitude and becomes meandering. After overcoming a narrow passage, the signs of erosion are accentuated. After traveling a few meters the cavity turns abruptly 90 degrees to the south, where it gains height until it reaches 5 meters. Here the base of the meander narrows until it becomes impracticable.

In opposition and gaining height, we come to a wide ledge formed by a cluster of blocks. After forcing a step of barely 30 centimeters and descending the projection that is behind it, we will find ourselves in a small room, where it is only possible to continue along the meander bed, and again after a narrowness.

After this stay and continuing through a narrow conduit we will reach another room of more comfortable dimensions. This room, adorned with fine concretions, only offers a possibility of continuation by a narrow ramp. After the initial narrowness, we will reach a small vertical, which will place us in a room of greater dimensions than the rest of the cavity. This room has a powerful stalagmite coating in the form of cast iron. In its background, and after a projection, a small impenetrable duct marks the end point to the cavity at 21 meters deep.

Exploration completed.
