In 1982 there were two main expeditions to the area. Lancaster University Speleological Society (LUSS) continued exploration of Torca del Cueto de Los Senderos (Sima 56), pushing the cave to -820m deep. The Red Rose Caving and Pothole Club (RRCPC) also visited the Road to Certain Death area in Cueva del Nacimiento and conducted some minor exploration on the Sierra del a Corta region.
